In order for a wiki to be successful, it must be used and embraced. Socialtext's Professional Services group can make that happen. Socialtext recognizes the social, cultural, and organizational challenges of launching successful wikis, and have built a comprehensive suite of capabilities designed to help our customers with all aspects of successful implementation. From a technical standpoint, the Socialtext Professional Services group helps customers integrate their Socialtext wiki into systems which their organizations already use. They deliver custom skins to reflect a customer’s unique branding. Through robust SOAP and REST APIs, they deliver LDAP and Active Directory authentication, as well as integrations with Microsoft SharePoint, and Lotus Connections, and enterprise search engines.

Socialtext has also developed a proprietary methodology to generate adoption and deliver real business value. Built around the acronym "SPRING", the methodology takes customers through a six-step process:

• Structure the wiki with high‑level categories, activities, and frameworks designed to reinforce your community's objectives, aspirations, and operating norms
• Populate your wiki with real content, provided by a core team of early champions
• Review, as a team, the initial content and revise the structure as needed now that you've actually had a chance to use it
• Invite others to join the community, in a viral fashion beginning with the core team inviting their friends and associates to join
• Ncourage others to contribute, by routing emails, announcements, agendas, logistics, etc., through the wiki
• Garden the wiki content by merging redundant pages, revising categories, tagging like entries, etc.

Through a combination of interviewing, business analysis, strategy workshops, prototyping, and training, the Socialtext Customer Success Managers take customers through every step required to create vibrant, thriving wiki communities.
