An Informative Intranet and People's Portal

"Socialtext makes the web accessible to everyone and shortens sales cycle compared to email," said VP of Sales Alan Flohr. "Socialtext has made the process of maintaining current and impactful tools into a collaborative process. It's the one place to go for hints, best practices, sample proposals, sales tools, things that are going to help the sales team be more efficient."

Informative Incorporated

Informative is a technology-enabled marketing services company that enables businesses to understand the value of, and leverage influence with their consumers. The Informative platform enables marketers to engage consumers, analyze their input, create an effective response and measure their ability to influence a brand. Informative teams are spread across five time zones around the globe, in North America, Europe, and Asia.

Informative uses Socialtext to manage its knowledge portal. The Socialtext approach enables Informative to keep information up-to-the-minute for their global team.

Finally, an Informative Knowledge Portal

A best practices knowledgebase is critical for a software and professional services firm to deliver high quality work quickly. This is particularly important for a distributed team, which has less time in-person to share information. Informative used Socialtext to rapidly build a best practices knowledgebase that saves money, time, and improves the quality of service delivery.

Before using Socialtext, Informative tried a more traditional top-down portal approach. They deployed a portal with a structured editorial process, with a goal of assuring content quality while reducing the amount of time that employees look for information.

Before using Socialtext, Informative spent over a year trying to assemble best practices documents for internal reference, using an Intranet Portal, MS Exchange shared folders, MS Project client deployments and top-down collaboration tools. Six employees worked on the portal for a year, the Intranet Portal solution wasn't working. The Portal was never completed, it wasn't widely used, and when it was used, it wasn't effective.
